Information collected through this website

If you make an enquiry by form, email, telephone or WhatsApp, Alan receives the contact details and information you choose to share. This may include your name, email address, telephone number, message and correspondence about your enquiry.

The website’s hosting and embedded services may receive technical information, such as your IP address, browser information and the pages or features requested, to deliver and protect their services.

Please keep your first enquiry brief. You do not need to include detailed health information, a personal history or information about other people. If more sensitive information is needed, Alan will discuss how it should be shared and handled.

Why information is used

Your enquiry information is used to respond to you, answer questions and discuss practical arrangements for counselling. Routine enquiries are handled on the basis of Alan’s legitimate interest in responding to people who contact the practice. Where you ask to arrange a service, information may also be needed to take steps at your request before entering an agreement.

Information may also be used where necessary to meet a legal obligation. Any use of health information requires an additional lawful condition; the arrangements for counselling and sensitive information are discussed separately before that work begins.

Providing information is voluntary, but Alan needs enough contact information to reply. This website does not use analytics or marketing tools. Website enquiries are not used for automated decisions or profiling.

How long enquiries are kept

Alan keeps enquiry information for one month from the date he receives it.

If you become a client, information needed for counselling is handled under the separate arrangements explained for that work. This one-month enquiry period does not describe the retention of counselling records.

Website services and other providers

Service providers help deliver the website and handle communications. They may process information needed for those tasks. Information may also be disclosed when required by law.

  • PageBuilder and asset hosting: deliver the website and its images.
  • Tally: provides the enquiry form and processes submitted answers on behalf of the form owner. See Tally’s privacy notice.
  • Google Maps and Google Fonts: provide the embedded map and website fonts. Loading these features connects your browser to Google and may share technical information. See Google’s privacy policy.
  • WhatsApp: clicking the chat button opens WhatsApp. If you choose to message Alan, your use of that service is also governed by WhatsApp’s privacy policy.
  • Email and telephone providers: carry communications when you contact the practice.

Some providers operate internationally and may process technical or communication data outside the European Economic Area. Their privacy notices explain their processing locations and transfer safeguards. You can contact Alan for information about the providers used for your enquiry.

Cookies, security and your choices

The website does not use analytics or marketing tools. Embedded services may use cookies or similar technology for their own operation. You can manage cookies through your browser settings and review each provider’s privacy information. Blocking third-party content may affect features such as the form or map.

You can contact Alan by telephone or email instead of using the online form or WhatsApp. No online communication method is completely risk-free, so please avoid sending sensitive personal details in an initial enquiry.

Your privacy rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access, correct or erase your personal information, restrict its use, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or request a portable copy. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.

To make a request, email [email protected]. Alan may need to confirm your identity before releasing personal information.

You can also raise a concern with Ireland’s Data Protection Commission. You do not have to contact Alan first.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the website or its use of information changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. For questions about this policy, please contact Alan using the details on the contact page.
